Last Friday Jason took the boys on their first father and sons campout. He wasn't sure he was going to be able to get off work in time on Friday so we waited until a couple hours before it was time to go to tell them. They were so excited (and so was I) they started packing right away. They got even more excited when they found out that there Grandpa Merkley was going with them! Saturday when they got home Jason dropped them off and went right into work so I threw them in the tub and started asking questions, I started with what did you do?
Van answers with slept.
Landon says...There were no bears, no birds, just lots of humans.
Interesting!!
I am sure they had a lot of fun I know Jason did!
Happy 80Th Birthday Grandma Grace!
We could not let her turn the big 8-0 with out a celebration. We think your a Queen so we decided to treat you like one. We got the party started by crowning you with your tiara, lai, and birthday princess sash.

We had delicious food and Brigit told her life story. It was fun to hear and some of the stories I had never heard before. The great grand kids enjoyed listening to it and it kept there attention. I can't wait until we get to hear the rest of the stories.
Of course we showered the Queen with gifts!
No Birthday party is complete without a delicious cake for the Queen!
Here's the Queen with her Princesses and Prince!
What a great night!

Congratulations Whitney!!
I thought I would throw this picture up so you knew that I did go and see you graduate.
The parking was horrible so I ditched out early so that I wouldn't have to sit in it as long getting out so I never saw her, but I was there!

LeAnn was kind enough to watch the boys while I went and Van did one of his graceful falls while he was outside playing. He said he was trying to get the tree but I think it is better put by saying
Van fought the wall and the wall won!

That was Friday and Monday he decided to keep his injuries coming and went slippin' slidin' on the porch to get this HUGE lump on his head.
He needed a Popsicle on the tramp to help him feel better unfortunately when he went out to eat it a bee decided to get him. I have not even seen a bee in our back yard. Landon was right next to him so I am not sure why he was the chosen one but he was.
Poor kid had a rough afternoon and decided to stay indoors the rest of the evening! Can't say that I blame him.

Every picture has a story.....
Van feel asleep in the middle of the play room so I told Landon to be quiet and come downstairs to help me. We played some games and did some fun stuff then I started to clean up. He decided he needed a nap (that has not happened in years) at that point and went upstairs. I went up a little later to check on them and to my surprise Van suddenly had earphones on?! When I questioned Landon about it he said "Well, I went to the bathroom and was afraid when I flushed the toilet it would wake him up so I went and got earphones to cover his ears then I went back and flushed".
I can't believe Van did not wake up when he put them on him but he didn't! Good job solving your problem Landon.

Grandpa

We got a phone call from my Dad
(which really never happens) to tell us the irrigation was coming and invite the boys over. He has no idea how happy that made them.
When Van said his prayer last night he said that he was thankful for Grandpa. He went on to say he was thankful for bridges, three wheelers, and a list went on of the other things Grandpa and him do together. Van really does love hanging out with his Grandpa, of course Landon does to.
They ran, jumped, and played on the play set for a long time.
run-run-run*fun-fun-fun
Landon and Grandpa
Two happy boy's!
Van decided it was to cold with cloths on so he preferred the nude!

They slept really good after all this!

Thanks Dad

"Big Huge Airlplane Kite"

I loved the wind
we had last week.
For one I finally had a good excuse for not doing my hair and two we got to go fly the
"big huge airplane kite"! The boys were so excited when Jason got to come home between calls and help with this
(I am NOT a good kite flier).
