RUN.RuN.RUN.

Not a Great picture of us but hey we just finished our 10k, thats right I actually ran six miles! I think we had a good time for being new to this, we did it in ONE hour and ONE minute! Thanks Whitney for being my running partner can't wait until the next one, we will be under an hour next time!
I was so glad Jason decided to surprise me and bring the kids to watch us finish the race (he figured it would take us longer to do it so he missed us cross the finish line but it is the thought that counts, right?!) Anyway, the kids had a great time they got to
BoUnCe BoUnCe BOUNCE and BoUnCe!

They took a tour on the train. . . . . . .

and admired the animals at the bedding zoo. It had goats, chickens, pigs, llamas, bunnies, and sheep but Landon and Bodin were more interested in going over to
BoUnCe!

It was a lot of fun and all for even better that we were able to help out two little girls in need!

Lets Play Catch Up

I have been slacking, here is what we have been up to. . . .

VAN had to start out the NEW year with a NEW wound. It turned into a very nice shiner and left a scar that will always be with him. Not every kid will be able to tell the story of how their Dad hit them with a shovel. Yes, this is what happens when Van tries to help Jason work in the backyard, poor kid always in the wrong place at the wrong time!

January 16th
Welcome Home Elder Merkley! The boys did a great job making the signs and were very excited to go see him!

Van has an awesome hawk. . . I knew it was getting a little out of control and truth be told it was over two inches out of control. I was sad to see it go but, hawk boy had his first hair cut. I will miss his hawk but since his hair goes into the hawk naturally it will be back and hopefully a little thicker next time.

Yes, Yes, his hair really does this style all on its own well almost, the front piece is all that requires a little gel. Maybe he will grow to love his horrible hair!

I have looked at jogging strollers for a long time and finally bought this one. I need to get a little bit of some muscle so I gave in and bought it. I love, love, love it! The day I got it I took it out for a run and it is awesome! Landon actually feel asleep when we were out just one more reason that I LOVE IT!

I decided that I would get the kids ready for the Hallmark Holiday. Valentines is not even close to my favorite holiday but I gives me a reason to let the kids make hearts and not catch slack from Jason about letting the boys make girl things! Landon never wants anything to do with girl stuff! (Shani, Ben, I can hear you laughing)

Snow

We love the cabin, It is warm and cozy and always available! I feel blessed to have Grandparents that are always willing to let us go and even stock it with new heaters that are even kid friendly (Van loves to sit and look at it). Jason and I never pay attention so when we went up on Saturday we had no idea that snow was in the forecast. Sunday morning was beautiful and Landon loved it!
One of the only times Van had a smile on his face, not a snow kid!
Poor Grandpa can never get away from Landon and if you look closely you can see the snow coming down.

Dad and his boys!
Saturday night when we got to the cabin we were happy to find that not all the snow had melted, if only we would have watched the weather report we would have known that was not going to be a problem!

Gracen and Landon made the best snow angels!

Christmas was great! We enjoyed a high speed morning at our house, Landon went from one thing to the next, the paper was flying, and he loved it!! Van enjoyed himself but went at a much slower pace but, no worries Landon helped him catch up at the end. The whole down stairs was a disaster but, at least it was fun watching them destroy it ~ that's something that is truly only said once a year! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Merkey for spending the morning with us. Then we got to head over to my moms house for some yummy Christmas dinner and then to the Merkley's where we able to talk to Brandon. We hope everyone made some great Christmas memories this year!

It was a. . . .mouse . . . .maybe not!

He has earned the name chunky monkey for a reason. Van took "eating the spatula" a little to literal. It was covered in cinnamon roll filling but, I guess that was not enough for him. Sorry Grandma, we went to buy you a new one today since you don't like that one any more.

Lazy, with a very creative twist!

I would love to tell about the horrible accident that left Landon with this band-aid but, there is only a story to tell. Jason was out of town and I swear Landon is always at his finest when Dad is gone. We got up and I was trying to get out the door and all Landon wanted to do was sit on the couch and watch T.V., which makes me so FRUSTRATED. I told him to get up and get his shoes, brush teeth and all he managed to to was get up find the box of band-aids and cover his feet with them. When I went back down stairs to get him he explained to me how his feet were "broken" and how he could not do anything but sit and watch his cartoons. He did have more band-aids on but I ripped them off before I thought of taking a picture & you can't see his face for a reason. I wish the t.v. plug was reachable!

The Holiday Season

Well this is a long one. . . To start the beginning of the Christmas season Landon had a great idea to sneak down stairs and open the big Christmas present. When I found him he had left the gift behind and was very disappointed as he says "that was a boring present"! Worked great for me I love my new calender, would have been nice if I got to open it first but hey at least he did not get the satisfaction of opening something of his. Thanks Khendra I love it!
We did get our tree decorated and I have to say it looks different every day. Landon was very into the whole process and got mad at Van for moving everything around. I have to say that I am tired of hearing Landon tell Van to stop taking the tree a part.

We were not as lucky as some of you guys and we waited over an hour to get the three minutes with the famous man. Landon came up with some off the wall toy that I am not even sure exists to ask for and Van looked at him and screamed.

The boys in there Christmas clothes all ready for church, to bad we were 30 minutes late but, they looked so cute. Thanks Grandma for the great matching shirts and ties.

What better way to end a Sunday then with a great family night. The kids did the Christmas program for us. Last year my mom was not so satisfied so she took charge and the kids loved it.
You have to follow up with some great deserts and this is what we came up with. I think that my mom may demote us next year but the ginger bread houses did work. So if anyone needs to throw together a ginger bread house (we did have a week to prepare but being prepared is way over rated) mega blocks work great. Defiantly not how my mom would of had us do it!!

Our holiday season was very busy and fun. We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!
