12*JULY*2010
Happy Birthday Landon and Me!
We filled your room up with some balloons for a morning surprise and you got up came in my room and said
"why is there balloons in my room"
for your birthday, happy birthday
"oh okay let me take the pink ones out"!
We fixed that problem and then my goal for the day was to not go in the kitchen on my birthday so off we went to Dunkin Donuts.
Landon you walked in and said
"I need FIVE chocolate sprinkle donuts"!
Grandma Merkley took you for some fun Landon shopping.
For lunch we went to the Farm grill for some free lunch--yum yum
Then we went for a little me shopping--fun fun
Then home to get Dad.
You planned your birthday night and what else....
Peter Piper Pizza for a lot of games and some pizza!

You have been showing a lot of interest in baseball so we got you all the necessities and of course Van got a glove to.
It was a great night the only thing missing was the ice cream but we promised to take you this weekend when I am feeling up to eating some cold stone birthday ice cream with you.  Thanks Landon for sharing your birthday with me it was fun!

Birthday Parties

I feel totally spoiled after last weekend, I have been so lazy and I have to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped me pick up the slack.  I never got around to planning Landon a birthday party so my mom had everyone over for a delicious dinner and Rachel made our cakes.  I LOVED them!  Yes, she made two she didn't want Landon and I to share our birthday cake.  Mine was oh so good and the perfect cake for me it was a guess purse.  It not only looked amazing but it tasted amazing to, chocolate my favorite!

Landon's was Gothem City.  He was so EXCITED when he saw it and so was Van.  I had to sit in front of the fridge to keep them out.  His was an Oreo cake and it to was AMAZING!  Thank you so much Rachel.

Of course we followed up with present opening.  Thanks everyone for the great night we had so much fun.
We were spoiled again with another delicious dinner and gifts Sunday night at the Merkley's house.  It was another night of fun but I forgot to get my camera out :(

When I Grow Up.....

Wow Landon I can't believe that on Monday you turned five!  I am so glad that you are mine.  You are an Awesome, Adventurist, Smart, Helpful, Outgoing Boy!  You are so good to share your toys, play, and teach Van everything you know.  You help with Gunner when I do or don't need it :)  We LOVE you and hope you have an amazing year!

When you grow up you want to be a super hero not a fireman but I love the picture anyway.  You are one tough kid!!

Camping

Last weekend Jason took Landon and Van up to enjoying nature with his family on there annual family camp out.  I can say I wish I would have been there instead of home sick but at least the boys got to take a quick trip up for some fun.  Van summed it up perfectly "we drive a lot and sleep in the dirt and come home".  He was in the tent but with the amount of dirt he was covered in you would have thought he slept in the dirt!

Van or Calvin?!

Quick run down...three weeks of fever, chills, major night sweats, headache, back pain, and one week with a cough.  One wrong diagnosis, one Dr. visit on Tuesday where they would not run any test because it could be problems from delivery.  One visit to my ob Thursday to confirm not ob problems but took blood anyway to test for stuff.  From there back to a different Doc...more blood work and chest x-ray's.  Phone call Thursday night that it is pneumonia called in meds to Target that would be ready Friday morning.

Friday morning we get up and I go to Target to get stuff for the boy's camping trip and get my meds.  I get the meds first in hope for some relief they say take two hours after a meal so I take them and start shopping.  Should have known within 20 minutes I am sicker, time to leave.  I get home and put in the new superhero movie the boys got, lock all the doors and go lay in bed.  50 minutes later I get up to check on things and go down stairs to find chairs have been moved.  Van had helped himself to A LOT of candy and the play doh.  He was so proud as he told me that he had made play doh balls.  They were all over the house, big ones, little ones, they were all sizes and I swear there were millions!  Landon came down stairs and says "wow when did this happen".  I really think I should have named Van.... Calvin?!  I really think I should have known when he was born with the natural Mohawk that he was going to be my active child.  I better get over this or my house may not stay standing.

More Fun PIcs

Picture overload and I love it!
My super talented friend Sara took us out earlier this week and got some shots of the boys.  There are so many that I love I couldn't choose.  The location was perfect for a little boy shoot.  Thanks Sara I really do LOVE them!

She was even able to capture Van's sweet side!
Landon is getting so big!

Caution-CAUTION-Caution

Ever feel like wrapping your house in this?

Warning this is long and boring and I am feeling a little fuzzy so it may not make sense.
June has come and gone and it has been a crazy one. The beginning of the month of course brought Gunner :) but not before it brought the flu. The flu came strong and it was oh so brutal. Landon brought it first and lets just say we stayed up all night and I threw away his favorite Batman pillow and the ginormous been bag the boys loved to wrestle on, they just were not salvageable. Landon is better and I am not. All I can say is that at least it brought labor...one more night of no sleep. Here comes Gunner and we are all healthy, that was a great week. The next week Van says my tummy hurts and oh was he right yup one more night of no sleep, between Gunner and Van I had one loooong stinky night. I wished I could have yelled at Jason to get up and help but he was starting a different job the next morning so he slept so well. After that long stinky night I thought Van would sleep all day oh no not Van he was up jumping on me announcing that his tummy was all better at six a.m. really Van I went to bed at five :( We stayed cooped up all day and Van really is better in 12 hours wonderful oh wait really how could I have got it again?! One more fun night for me and the next is followed by a fun couple days for Jason. It is amazing how he is the only one that had it for longer than 12 hours but oh he did and perfect timing the first week of his new job and already taking Thursday off he forced himself to work on Friday (not so pretty). Saturday comes and hooray no more puking everyone is well almost. I have had some lower back pain for a couple days, I am so sure I just slept bad. Then I get the chills/shakes/fever/headache. My Dad and favorite Texas family has this kind of flu I give it a couple days and it gets soooo worse. I decided if I avoid the problem I would be fine. I get up Tuesday tell myself I am great, take the boys to the summer movie, get some lunch, go to swim, walk through the front door and want to die. The wimpy gets to me I am ready to take them to Whitney (we really were getting ready to come) when Jason calls and says he is almost home. I go to the after hours place and despite all the Tylenol I took to make it through the day I am still 103 degrees with a really bad kidney infection. I get the "antibiotic shot" which I must say hurt so bad it once again had me running to the bathroom (I totally felt like Whitney at this point, it has never happened to me before). With some more antibiotics, pain pills and an extremely lazy day I am starting to feel so much better. Thank you LeAnn for taking the boys I am a little ashamed to admit that I have not gotten out of my pj's and it is 6:30 at night but it feels so good. I even felt like Gunner was my only baby today
(guilt free feeling since I am sure they are having tons of fun)!
WELCOME JULY :)
