Happy Birthday

Landon Loves Birthdays! He loves everything about them and today for Lorin's birthday we started the festivities early.... First thing he did this morning was singing him happy birthday, he even sang before his chocolate milk (nothing usually comes before his chocolate milk, it is his coffee). Next was down stairs to make the birthday card. He was in such a hurry to get it done he insisted working on it while he ate his high quality breakfast (not sure how this happened but neither of them spilt on there projects = amazing!) The finished project was a bucket with a super girl, wonder girl, and superman, and in my opinion one of the best books ever, Guess How Much I Love You. The boys did a good job shopping with me to pick it all out and I think that Grandma was happy with the gift they put together and had delivered by 8:30 this morning. Here's to a great day to celebrate the "super hero strength" of Uncle Lorin!

sum~sum~summer time

Summer is FINALLY here and I could not think of a better way to kick things off then a trip to Tempe Town Lake Splash Park. Out of all the splash parks I think this one is my favorite, I just wish it was a little closer. Anyway, I loaded up my kids and Shani's and we started our first day of summer break in style! Van Loved it and was completely fearless, Bodin, Landon, and McKinna, well, they were everywhere and McKade wished the water was warmer but we got him wet anyway.

Then we were so excited when Brandon, Erin, and the gang came by to join us.
Can't wait to go again!

I'm gonna get that raskley rabbit

Animal lovers may not want to read this
Van is better known as......

Elmer Fud
Van is talking sooo much, I have to admit sometimes I wish he would slow down and be silent but that's not going to happen. It is kind of Scary but one of his favorite sentences is
"Shot Rabbit"
with
"shh wheres bird"
in a close second.
He is all boy and one of his favorite things to do is shoot rabbits and birds with Jason. Jason got a very expensive high powered pellet gun and lets just say that Van might love it more than Jason. We got Van a look alike and it has been going everywhere with him, he even takes it to bed. I guess a good hunter always has to be ready, right?!

Jason loves his little hunting buddy, however, I am not sure I like my one year old saying his favorite phrases but I do like sending him on short hunting trips, gives me a quiet house.

Mothers Day 2009

Jason and I were talking the other night about what we were going to get our mothers for mothers day when Landon piped in and said "I know beautiful flowers" We both looked at him and asked him who told him that, he quickly replies the "the TV". We both laughed and continued to think of something to go along with the "Beautiful Flowers". A couple days later I was telling Whitney about this conversation, she takes it a bit further and asks Landon where are you going to get the beautiful flowers from? Without wasting a second Landon replies "from Santa Clause"! She had to keep it going so she tells him that Santa does not bring flowers for Mothers Day so he again without wasting a second says "well, I will get them from the TV". I loved both his answers, I really wish Santa would bring gifts all year round, life would be so much easier! Anyway, on Saturday I took him to Target so he could pick out "beautiful flowers" for all the amazing mothers in our lives and me. He had a lot of fun and put a lot of thought in who got what flowers.

(Van also enjoyed this and I should have watched him a bit closer because he turned around and started taste testing all the produce, whoops)

Sunday morning I got to have a great breakfast and eat first! This one is for the record books, I was the first one to start eating, finish eating, and I did not share my food with any little boys! Landon tells me Happy Mothers Day and I totally set my myself up for this, I said thanks, am I good mom? STUPID question and he so quickly fires off one of his great comments......

"Well, you would be better if you folded laundry faster!!" Really, really, you just said that, better luck to all you other mothers!
It was a great mothers day followed by church, than some much needed family fun time, (I can't remember the last time we got Jason outside with us to have some backyard fun) and then a great dinner at Shani's! Good times, can't wait until next year!
*Anyone want to teach me how to fold laundry faster?*

Landon Cobb?!

It went like this...
Landon please close the door
"No Mom"
Landon you need to close the door
"No, I don't want to"
Go close the door
No!
-Van so kindly goes and tries to close the sliding door-
I tell Van Thank you, and point out how he is being a good boy
Landon yells out "Well I am not your boy"
Really, than what are you
"I am a COBB!"
Okay then no Cobbs are going to play outside with us,
go inside and sit in time out!
I can't believe how cleaver he is, he is always surprising me and then
usually finding himself in time out!
Shani, Ben I am working on cropping him into all your family photos,
you can pick him as soon as possible!
Thanks!

One great purchase!

~INSURANCE~
Jason's new job has a HORRIBLE Health Insurance plan, I never knew they even made plans that bad, obviously they were made up by people who DO NOT have children. Last month I applied for a private insurance plan through United Health Care and Landon held up the process (him and his head will forever haunt us) but we got it! We have already got our money's worth Van has taken advantage of it twice in less than thirty days. Two doctor visits, four prescriptions and lots of cries equals Van and his terrible ear infections. Ahh, I hate those and feel so bad for him but he has got the hook ups. He has the pain meds that go directly in the ear, Tylenol with codeine and we are supposed to try no dairy for a month. Not going to be fun but hopefully if his nose will stop running his ears will stop breaking! Seriously, last year ended with a ruptured eardrum. Anyway, I guess the nightly ice cream breaks will have to be held after Van has gone to bed :(
